The Righteous Floater

And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. […] And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. - The Bible, Genesis

The first instalment of The Righteous Floater was a site-specific 10-minute dance performance, which was created as a part of the Vancouver Biennale 2012 BIG IDEAS Performance Series. This performance was commissioned by The Dance Centre and was performed at Harbour Green Park in Vancouver - by Sorel Etrog King and Queen sculpture. The second instalment of the piece was 30 minutes, created in collaboration with Parjad Sharifi and Alex Mah, and presented by Dancing on the Edge Festival 2013 at The Firehall Arts Centre in Vancouver. Later we were invited to the Dance Days Festival in Victoria. The Righteous Floater was again presented at Dance in Vancouver (DIV) in November 2015.
